What's the average price of a new front door?
The cost of replacing a front door varies as it depends on the quality, size, design, colour and furniture/ glass options which you choose. A simple, half panelled, white front door made from uPVC can the least expensive. As Spire Windows manufacture their uPVC doors their prices are keen and include technical survey, installation, rubbish removal, a comprehensive guarantee and full aftersales support.
Are new Doors a good investment?
Fitting a new uPVC front door to your home can add value to your property. External uPVC doors can be more energy efficient then timber and help improve your properties’ EPC rating which has been known to boost property value and make a home more saleable. Spire Windows’ uPVC doors can improve appearance and the curb appeal of your property, making it more appealing to potential buyers. What's better uPVC or composite?
Spire’s uPVC and composite doors are both extremely good products. The main difference between these door types is the materials they’re made from – uPVC doors are constructed solely from strong and durable plastic whereas composite doors are made from various materials including a solid timber core, insulation foam, a GRP skin and uPVC outer frame. Due to the manufacture process, Composite doors tend to cost more than a uPVC door however they can be a good alternative.
How long does a composite door last?
Composite doors are engineered with a glass reinforced polyester (GRP) skin, which is notable for its ability to resist losing its colour. Coloured composite doors are designed not to fade or wear like a conventional painted door. An inferior composite door could be susceptible to the elements, in particular UV damage, depending on the direction that it is facing. Spire Windows use an industry leading composite door skin to ensure their durability and life-span. Furthermore, all Spire composite doors come with a fully comprehensive, 10-year guarantee.
